Many Leicester City fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by Foxes-focused Twitter account @LCFCFoxes_com, who have shared that left-back Christian Fuchs is allegedly “torn about his future with the club” at present, with his current contract set to expire this summer.

This news regarding Fuchs’ quandary over whether or not he should re-sign with the Foxes was originally reported by the Daily Mail, who recently claimed that the Austrian “is in two minds about whether to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium by another year.”

This report from the Daily Mail, which cites German magazine Socrates, explains that while the 34-year-old full-back is allegedly a “part of a ‘leadership group’ of influential players” at the King Power Stadium, he is still considering his departure from the club due to his family being “based in New York”, in addition to having “business interests in the US”.

Some Foxes supporters have been responding to @LCFCFoxes_com’s recent post with calls for the 34-year-old Austrian to stay at the King Power Stadium. Read some of these responses in the tweets below.

Meanwhile, some Foxes supporters have been discussing the possibility of playing Champions League football next season as a potential way of convincing Fuchs to stay at the club.

What do we think?

Considering that Leicester City currently sit in third place in the Premier League table, after playing 29 games this term, it may be understandable why some Foxes supporters may feel that they currently have a good chance of playing Champions League football next season.

Furthermore, having more games on their schedule next season should they qualify for the Champions League may naturally lead to a greater requirement for the Foxes to have a decent level of squad depth. With that in mind, it may be fair to say that 34-year-old Fuchs’ experience may make him a valuable asset for the Foxes heading into the 2020/21 campaign, should they convince him to extend his stay at the club.
