Has Football Insider every heard of amortisation?

I think him and Walcott gone can only be a massive gain.

Better than playing him and keeping him

If a £10-million bid arrived for Gylfi Sigurdsson in the next transfer window, would you want it accepted?Yes, need to get him outNo, I'd want more than that |
The Toffees acquired the services of the 30-year-old midfielder for a fee believed to be £45 million from Swansea in the summer of 2016 (per BBC).
However, just three years on, the Icelandic middleman now has a market value of £20.25 million (per Transfermarkt), suggesting that his value has fallen by almost £25 million.
A LOSS IS A LOSS BUT IF WE KEEP PLAYERS LIKE HIM WE WILL EVENTUALLY LOSE PREMIER LEAGUE STATUS

Gets him off the wage bill. No biggie.
— Andreas Wätt (@Wattawildworld) April 14, 2020
Take £10m plus saving £10m in wages is a no brainer. Had him for 3 years average for 2. Walsh and Koeman strike again. Never lived up to his hype. Big fish little pond at Swansea. Sandro and Tosun the same. Frees up £60m at least for all 3 selling for £10m each. NSNO.

Already a massive loss when we signed him. Bonkers transfer

What do we think?
According to Transfermarkt, just prior to Sigurdsson being signed by Everton, the 30-year-old had a value of £22.5 million, and since then, that figure has not risen higher than £31.5 million. Therefore, it is possible that the Toffees paid over the odds in the first place.
However, the feeling of these Everton supporters is absolutely clear in that they would not be bothered if the club did make a big loss on Sigurdsson and would rather he was sold.
