Some Everton fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by Toffees-focused Twitter account @TheGwladysSt, which has shared some news regarding the Toffees’ alleged pursuit of Italian forward Andrea Belotti.

The post claims that Everton have had a bid worth just under £40m rejected for the Torino attacker, who Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti is allegedly “keen on signing”, as per Italian publication Tuttosport (via Sport Witness).

Tuttosport recently reported that Ancelotti is targeting the 26-year-old forward, having previously been interested in signing Belotti “last year at Napoli”. The Italian publication likens the Torino forward to ex-Everton attacker and current coach Duncan Ferguson.

To kick off this quiz on the goings-on with the Toffees last week, which Premier League midfielder were Everton linked with late in the week?

Would you like to see Everton sign Andrea Belotti?

YES, BELOTTI WOULD BE A TOP SIGNING

NO, EVERTON DON'T NEED BELOTTI

NO, EVERTON DON'T NEED BELOTTI

What do we think?

Belotti scored 10 league goals or more in all four Serie A campaigns before this season. The 26-year-old has currently bagged nine goals from 23 league games thus far in the 2019/20 season, making him Torino’s top league goalscorer for the current campaign.

With a total of nine Serie A goals to his name this season, Belotti has scored just under one-third of his side’s 28 league goals this term. With that in mind, it may be understandable why Torino, who currently sit in 15th place in the Serie A table, may command a high price for Belotti if he is to be sold.
