Some Everton supporters have been reacting to the latest news regarding the conclusion of the Premier League season.

According to Sky Sports, the Premier League will meet on Friday to discuss the rest of the season, “with an increasing number of clubs” showing a desire for the season to be concluded by 30th June.  Everton-focused Twitter account @EvertonNewsFeed shared this report via a post which some Toffees fans have been reacting to.

According to the report from Sky Sports, clubs are concerned that loan and out-of-contract players could walk away if the season is not completed by 30th June.

The contracts and loan deals that are currently set to expire after that date for the Toffees are the contracts of Maarten Stekelenburg, Leighton Baines, Cuco Martina and Oumar Niasse, while Djibril Sidibe’s loan deal would also expire (per Transfermarkt).

What do we think?

As can be judged from these Everton supporters’ responses, some clearly feel as though finishing the current season by 30th June represents an almost impossible task.

However, as clubs rightly point out (per Sky Sports), if the season is not finished by that date or brought to some form of conclusion, another tricky situation with loans and player contracts will arise.
