Did Manuel Fernandes make a huge mistake by not signing for Everton permanently?Yes, would have been classNo, he wasn't that good |
The now 34-year-old Krasnodar player had two stints at Goodison Park, first on loan from Benfica in 2007 and then on loan again from Valencia in 2008 (per Transfermarkt).
Over the two spells, Fernandes made 24 appearances for Everton, however, only bagged two goals and four assists (per Transfermarkt) but fans were still gutted that he never signed for the Toffees.
This kid made the biggest mistake of his life not coming to us permanently.
His career never recovered. Shame.— Steve Soley ?????????#BuyBritish (@soles08) April 8, 2020

What do we think?
When looking at his two stints separately, it is clear to see that the first was more prolific. In Fernandes’ first spell, he scored two and assisted one in nine games, whereas in the second he scored zero and assisted three in 15 games (per Transfermarkt).
However, as can be judged from the responses, it is clear to see that there is some strong regret from the Goodison Park faithful that the Portuguese player never signed for Everton permanently.
