Supporters of Everton have been begging Romelu Lukaku to return to Goodison Park after the Belgian striker posted to social media.

On Wednesday afternoon, the former Everton frontman quote-tweeted a post from the Toffees which was previewing an old game that the club would be screening live on YouTube (per Romelu Lukaku), which had fans asking for his return.

Lukaku was an Everton player between 2013 and 2017, having arrived initially on loan from Chelsea, before departing for Manchester United (per Transfermarkt).

While on Merseyside, the 26-year-old frontman made 166 appearances, in which he bagged 87 goals, 29 assists and the love of the Goodison Park faithful.

One fan even got a bit carried away and presumed that Lukaku tweeting meant that he could be returning to Goodison Park.

What do we think?

As can be seen in the responses of Everton supporters, it seems they would love to have their former striker re-sign for the Toffees after 116 goal involvements in four seasons at Goodison Park (per Transfermarkt).

However, with a market value of £61.2 million and the fact he has bagged 23 goals and five assists in 35 appearances for his new club (per Transfermarkt), it would appear to be a gargantuan task to sign Lukaku from Inter anytime soon.
