Would you be happy if Everton signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid for £40 million in the summer?Yes, would be a good moveNo, could get better for that |
This season, Rodriguez has been the 13th-best performer for the Santiago Bernabeu side in La Liga with a 6.87/10 average match rating (per WhoScored).
According to Sport Witness’ report, though, Manchester United, Juventus and Napoli also have an interest in acquiring the services of the 28-year-old midfielder. Despite the links to various European clubs, fans continued to react to the rumours.
I just don’t see how this is a good move. Would cost us £40m-50m up front and huge wages. He’ll be 29 in three months, so there’s no sell-on value. Using that money to sign a highly rated CM who is 6-7 years younger makes so much more sense.

I want him and that but I don’t see how he fits the system, in a 442 with it being the 2 strikers that get forward, not a number 10.

What do we think?
While the Colombian has only featured in seven league games for his Spanish club so far this season, his 6.87/10 average rating (per WhoScored) proves that he still has talent.
However, it seems that while many Everton fans seem to find his abilities undeniable, some are unsure on how he would fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s system.
