Fans of Everton have been reacting to a report which has suggested that the Toffees are close to signing Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
According to Sport, as cited by Sport Witness, the Toffees have proposed a deal of €20 million (£17.4m) plus €5 million (£4.4m) in bonuses to bring the centre-back to Goodison Park. This alleged news was shared by @TheGwladysSt via a tweet, which fans have reacted to.
Barcelona are closing on the sale of Todibo for €20m. Barca are listening to offers for most of their asset that are not going to get minutes. Barca are negotiating the transfer with Everton, €20m + bonuses. Barca want a buyback, but that seems impossible. (Source: Sport)#EFC pic.twitter.com/LILTjKd01s

This worries me about the situation of Gabriel Magalhães. Does Todibo and Gabriel come or just one? But Todibo is a great potential kid!

I heard his attitude is horrible

Which of the two players would you rather see the Toffees bring to Merseyside?MagalhaesTodibo |
According to Sport Witness’ report, the Toffees were interested in acquiring the young Frenchman’s services in January, however, the player joined Bundesliga side Schalke 04 on loan with a €25-million (£21.8m) option to purchase instead.
The report goes on to state that the German side can no longer afford the fee, although they would like to extend the centre-back’s loan for another season. However, Barcelona want to sell the youngster for €25 million (£21.8m).
What’s happened to gabriel

What do we think?
As can be seen in the responses from these Everton supporters, there is a mix of reactions to this one and some supporters rightly point out that Gabriel Magalhaes, who is also a centre-back, was supposedly close to signing according to Area Napoli, as cited by Sport Witness.
When considering the pair’s average ratings according to WhoScored.com, however, Everton may be better off with Todibo as his 7.05/10 in the Bundesliga betters Magalhaes’ 6.93/10 in Ligue 1.
