Supporters of Everton have been reacting to a Twitter post from Anthony Gordon which included Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.
On Monday evening, the Toffees’ youngster posted two photos of himself and the former Everton player to Twitter stating ‘idols become rivals’ (per Anthony Gordon). Many Everton fans started talking about this.

Would you take Ross Barkley back at Goodison Park if the situation ever arose? No, he burned his bridgesYes, he is a quality player |
Barkley made 179 appearances for the Toffees’ first team over his time at Goodison Park, during which he netted 27 goals and bagged 28 assists (per Transfermarkt).
However, after supporters were left frustrated with the way that the midfielder left Merseyside for Chelsea (via Liverpool Echo), they were disappointed to see Gordon list Barkley as an ‘idol’ (per Anthony Gordon).
Don’t follow his path please Anthony ??

Not that anyone could expect you to never leave the club, but don’t do it the way that rat did it!

What do we think?
With the 19-year-old Englishman having made only four first-team appearances for the Toffees (as per Transfermarkt) it is clear that his career with the Goodison Park club is only just beginning.
However, it is also clear that Everton supporters are wishing that if Gordon does one day leave the Toffees, that he does not do it in the same way that Barkley did (via Liverpool Echo).
