Supporters of Everton have been discussing Alan Stubbs on social media after quotes from the Toffees’ former player emerged on Twitter.
On Tuesday afternoon, quotes from the former defender were relayed by @ToffeeTVEFC, after an interview with Everton, in which Stubbs discussed feeling “undervalued” when he left Goodison Park, which supporters reacted to.

So outraged by the club’s treatment of him, that he came crawling back 6 months later.
Between this and his comments on Rooney, I’ve never been able to take to Stubbs. He was no Davey Weir.

I think he has a very overinflated opinion of himself.

Do you feel that Alan Stubbs was harshly treated when he was offered a one-year deal?Yes, should have been longerNo, he should have accepted |
The retired 48-year-old had two spells with the Toffees, first between 2001 and 2005 when he arrived from Celtic and left for Sunderland before he returned six months later in 2006. The defender then stayed until 2008, when he departed for Derby County (per Transfermarkt).
Over his two stints at Goodison Park, Stubbs made 185 appearances for the Toffees during which he bagged six goals (per Transfermarkt), however, fans continued to slam the former defender after his quotes were relayed.
club didn’t treat him any differently than they would any player at same stage of career. never has a positive word to say about us every time media roll him out for a comment.

What do we think?
As some supporters mentioned, the Englishman was a 33-year-old defender when he left the Toffees for the first time, so, the one-year contract extension that he states he was offered does not seem like it would be all that out of the ordinary.
As can be seen in the responses, though, Everton supporters have left nothing to the imagination with their feelings on the matter as many having slated their former man.
