Aston Villa fans have flocked to Twitter to react to footage of goalkeeper Jed Steer.

This comes after Villa-focused Twitter account @In1982 shared a post on their page that included footage of a save Steer made for Villa against West Bromwich Albion in last season’s play-offs.

Who is currently Villa's record signing?

The page called the save from Steer “underrated” before adding that the ‘keeper “deserved” a full season in the Premier League.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their thoughts on the Englishman.

Should Jed Steer have played more times for Villa?

Yes, he showed his quality

No, not good enough

The footage shows Steer making a wonderful diving save to deny Jay Rodriguez a goal for the Baggies last season. The 2018/19 season saw the 27-year-old make 16 appearances for the club in the Championship whilst also playing in all three of Villa’s play-off matches (per Transfermarkt). Unfortunately for Steer, this current season has only seen him play in three Carabao Cup matches for the club and just eight minutes of Premier League action (per Transfermarkt). Now that this footage of Steer’s save against West Brom last season has resurfaced on Twitter once again, this has opened the door for lots of Villa fans to have their say on the ‘keeper.

What do we think?

It’s nice to see these Villa fans supporting and appreciating what Steer has done for the club when his stats suggest he has never been a consistent starter for the team.
