Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been reflecting on former Villan Christian Benteke’s time at Villa Park.
This comes after Villa-focused Twitter account @avfcgoals shared a post on their page that contained a video of Benteke’s Villa highlights from the 2012/13 season.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were delighted to see this footage of their former striker once again.

Amazing how one move can set in motion a series of events that has ruined a quite brilliant striker. He was unplayable at times and had an unbelievable record against the big 6. Would have him back in a heartbeat if there was a chance he could show form like this again

The Belgian, who is now valued at £11.7 million (as per Transfermarkt), joined Aston Villa back in August 2012 from KRC Genk for a fee of £7.92 million. His debut season for Villa saw Benteke score 19 goals in 34 Premier League appearances for the club (per Transfermarkt). During his entire Villa Park career, Benteke managed to score 49 goals and provide 12 assists in 101 appearances. Now that the footage of Benteke’s debut season for Villa has been doing the rounds on Twitter once again, this has paved the way for plenty of Villa fans to share their thoughts on their former star.

The reaction from these Villa fans on seeing Benteke in action for the club back in the 2012/13 season again just goes to show how good he was in that period and how much he is still appreciated by the fans.
