Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been discussing the club’s striker duo of Wesley and Mbwana Samatta.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @Total_Villa shared a post on their page asking their followers how good the pair could be if played alongside each other.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were keen to have their say on this potential strike partnership.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
A lot of fans commented about how Wesley wasn’t being used correctly, as he played best in a two upfront for Club Brugge.
From what I saw of Genk in the Champions League, Mbwana Samatta was also used in a two.
How good could these two be as a strike partnership? ? #avfc pic.twitter.com/x7AVl1lHzi

Could be a great partnership, but as we know both won’t be on the pitch at same time as Smith won’t/can’t play with two up front.

Cant see it happening as dean smith always plays the one up front but personally i would like to see it given a chance

Canny wait to see them together, Wesley is shocking as a lone striker but could see him and samatta working great

Would you like to see Wesley and Samatta play together for Villa?
Yes
No
The pair have not played a single minute together on the pitch for Villa as Wesley suffered a season-ending injury earlier in the season which then prompted the club to bring in Samatta to replace him. Now that the idea of the pair finally playing alongside each other has been brought up on Twitter, this has excited a lot of Villa fans who were not shy in sharing that excitement.
That could be fantastic.

I think we should give them a run of games together. Wesley seems to link up well and likes to get involved from deep etc. He can be a handful(when in the mood), he could help free up Samatta!

Definitely should be giving them a go.

What do we think?
It’s good to see these Villa fans hoping to see the duo play together at some point for the club. This shows that they have enough confidence in both players to play well together.
