What do we think?
As the tweets above show, some Baggies supporters appear to have come to the conclusion that the two hearts that Bilic posted, one black and one white, refer to Fenerbahce’s league rivals Besiktas, who the Croatian previously managed from June 2013 until May 2015.
Fenerbahce have reportedly been eyeing up Bilic as a potential candidate to become the club’s next manager. However, when he joined West Brom in the summer of 2019, Bilic stated that the Baggies have got “a short-term project and a long-term project”, which the club wanted him “to be the one to lead them in”, as reported by the BBC.
The Baggies are currently sitting in second place on the Championship table, six points clear of third-placed Fulham, who are currently their nearest challengers sitting outside of the league’s automatic promotion places at the moment. As a result of their positive league position, it may be unlikely that Bilic will leave the club after just a season at The Hawthorns, having spoken about leading the club’s “long-term project” upon originally joining West Brom.
