With no football to watch at the moment, Sunderland fans have resorted to rewatching footage of past goals to keep themselves entertained.

This weekend one Sunderland fan account posted footage of an incredible Fabio Borini goal scored against Newcastle back in 2013. The derby match saw the Italian secure victory for the Black Cats in the 84th minute of the match. The three points were vital to Sunderland, who were sitting in the relegation zone at this point in their season, picking up just four points from nine games.

Would you take Fabio Borini back at Sunderland?

When fans saw this footage, they admitted that it gave them chills. They remember this match vividly and wish they could experience something like this again soon.

What do we think?

At the end of the season in question, Sunderland managed to escape relegation, finishing just five points ahead of 18th-placed Norwich City.

In July 2018, Borini made the move from the Stadium of Light to AC Milan for £4.95 million after completing a season-long loan spell with the Italian giants. He has since been shipped on to Hellas Verona on a free transfer.

It is unlikely that the player would be willing to make the move back to Sunderland if the side were playing League One football, however, who is to say that he couldn’t be tempted back if they made it back into the Championship?
