Some Southampton fans have reacted to Dan Sheldon’s update about the club’s potential sale in the near future.
Sheldon posted an update on the Saints, saying that the club isn’t ‘officially’ on sale. But he went onto say that the club owners are looking for ‘new streams’ of investment from other parties in the near future.
Do you believe in the news that Southampton are up for sale?
I'm not buying that
I reckon its true
When Sheldon relayed this information on Twitter, it got the reaction out of many Southampton fans. They made their opinions clear.
@redbull we all know how this ends, let’s just get on with it and make it happen

The Times wouldn’t publish an article like that without having 100% certainty from multiple sources, especially going as far to say that brokers have been invited in to seek out potential investors. With their track record it’s more than likely true. ?????

So no brokers been invited to help sell the club?

@adambuttler87 I knew it was too good to be true ?

Both Liebherr & Gao looking to get out Dan? Any chance of Red Bull coming to our aid. Realistically we won’t move forward without the right people at the helm.

I’d believe the times over the @dailyecho any day of the week. The echo are totally useless and do most of their research through Twitter!

The Times had stated recently that Southampton have been put up for sale at an asking price of about £250 million. They say that one broker has been invited by the current owner to look for potential buyers for the Premier League club.
What do we think?
The differences in the stories that the Times and the Daily Echo have published show that this is still an ongoing saga. There is little clarity over what is happening and the comments of the Saints fans show that. One thing seems certain from the comments- they do want the current ownership to depart.
