An absolute legend @HirstyD9 @swfc the best striker I’ve seen at our club and easily one of the best in his time. His career hampered by dirty defenders..suppose that’s the only way they could cope with him.

Without doubt the greatest striker the England team never had. A fully fit Hirsty would have been a world beater.

Better than Shearer (when fit)

What do we think?
Hirst played at Hillsborough from 1986 to 1997 and in that time he made 280 competitive appearances for Wednesday and scored an impressive 104 goals.
Is Hirst a Wednesday legend?
Yes
No
This video shows what type of striker he was and, judging by the replies, has gone down well with these Wednesday fans.
The footage released by Wednesday shows Hirst scoring all types of goals from all different angles, and it has allowed these Owls fans to reminisce about the now 52-year-old.
We think that this was a nice tribute to Hirst, and the video shows a striker who clearly knew where the net was.
