Fans of QPR have been reacting to Yoann Barbet’s post on Twitter, in which the 26-year-old reflects on the Hoops’ 3-1 victory over Preston North End on Saturday.

Barbet, who arrived at Loftus Road on a free transfer from Brentford last summer, has made 18 Championship appearances for QPR this season, providing one assist.

The centre-back has been in decent form for the Hoops so far this term, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.69 throughout the campaign.

However, since returning from a spell on the sidelines, Barbet’s performances have improved dramatically, as over his last six appearances, the former French U18 international has averaged a remarkable 7.11 WhoScored match rating.

The £1.35 million-rated Barbet has been influential from the heart of the QPR defence over their six-match unbeaten run, which has included two clean sheets away from home against Swansea and Nottingham Forest, a 4-2 victory over Stoke City a 2-1 defeat of Derby County, and most recently, an impressive 3-1 victory away at Preston North End, despite having a man sent off.

Following the pleasing result, Barbet took to Twitter, conveying his joy at QPR’s performance. Fans were equally delighted with their side’s well-earned win, and replied in their droves to the 26-year-old, with many wishing Barbet congratulations for his performance.

Who is the oldest player to make an appearance in the Championship this season?

What do we think?

Mark Warburton has certainly turned QPR’s fortunes around over recent weeks. Having sat in 17th place in the Championship table on 39 points prior to their unbeaten run, the Hoops now occupy 13th position and are just six points off the play-off places.

With only nine games of the season remaining, QPR’s impressive run of form has come at a wonderful time, and with Warburton’s side sitting second in the Championship form table, they may yet make a late charge for the top six.
