Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post on Twitter which highlights Lewis Grabban’s goalscoring record for the club so far this season.

Grabban, who arrived at the City Ground from Bournemouth in 2018, has been influential in Nottingham Forest’s unlikely push for promotion this season, with the striker bagging 17 goals in 35 Championship appearances for the Reds.

The £4.05 million-rated frontman has been a regular in Sabri Lamouchi’s side, starting 92% of Forest’s Championship fixtures, averaging an impressive 6.82 WhoScored match rating throughout the season.

The 32-year-old’s latest goal came in Forest’s draw with Middlesbrough on Monday night, in which Grabban netted an 86th-minute equaliser, ensuring that the Reds’ hopes of automatic promotion remain alive going into the last 10 games of the Championship season.

In reaction to the club’s post on Twitter, which highlighted Grabban’s goalscoring form this season, fans of Nottingham Forest flocked to the replies, with many praising the striker for his contributions this term, while others claimed that Grabban’s form has been inconsistent of late.

What do we think?

Over Grabban’s career, he has established himself as one of the Championship’s top marksmen, scoring 91 goals in 214 appearances in the competition.

However, on the occasions that the striker has made the step up to the Premier League, he has seemingly found it hard to adjust, as over his 24 Premier League games with Norwich City and Bournemouth, the 32-year-old has managed to score just once.

Should Forest achieve promotion this year, Lamouchi may look to invest in the attacking department of his side, as the Frenchman failed to adequately do so over the January transfer window, judging by what new arrivals and returnees have offered to the frontline since the turn of the year.

If Grabban receives competition for his place in the starting XI, he will certainly have to improve on his previous Premier League record should he wish to remain Lamouchi’s main man.
