Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post by the official club account on Twitter, which wishes their late former manager Brian Clough a happy birthday.
The club posted an image of Brian Clough on what would have been the former Derby County, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest manager’s 80th birthday.
In the accompaniment of the image, the club stated: “Happy birthday, gaffer. We miss you and love you.”
In reaction to the post, fans of Nottingham Forest flocked to Twitter, with many reminiscing about the days when Clough was in charge of the club, while others have stated their belief as to how he would have loved certain players at the club currently, specifically winger Joe Lolley.
Happy birthday, gaffer.
We miss you and love you.

He would have loved Joe. What he could do with a winger with talent is legendary. Would have us in top 4 of PL and Joe playing international football.

I’m not saying he was the best club manager ever, but he was in the top one.

He’d have loved Joe Lolley’s politics too. Never lost his socialist beliefs! Always remembered where he came from.

What do we think?
Brian Clough is remembered as one of the greatest managers to have ever graced the game, while his affinity is particularly remembered with Nottingham Forest.
In a remarkable career spanning 215 games in charge of the Reds, Clough won the English Division One (now Premier League) title once, the League Cup four times, the European Champions Club Cup twice, the European Supercup once, and the Community Shield once.
As such, it is not difficult to see why Clough is as idolized as he is by the Reds faithful, and it is apparent the legendary manager will continue to live on in the fond memories of Forest fans.
