Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford ended his goal drought at the weekend when he scored the second in their 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town. Marcelo Bielsa’s side moved to the top of the Championship that day having come out on top in the Yorkshire derby.
The 26-year-old hadn’t scored since the victory over Millwall at Elland Road in January. Bamford’s goal was a tap-in from close range but given how long it had been since his last goal that would have likely felt irrelevant.
A compilation video has emerged since the game, highlighting the £7.2m-rated striker’s clever movement and work-rate. Here’s how some of the fans have responded to it on Twitter.
All season this has been Bamford and deserves my respect ?

He still played decent through his goal drought, he’s been able to stay fit all season and is getting better. Getting goals from around the pitch is also helping him coz earlier this year pablo and klich for example werent scoring

However, there were others who were not so clear as to why Bamford was receiving such positive feedback.
We actually making compilation videos about Bamford moving about and making a couple of easy passes…

Yeah, I mean some good bits in there but wouldn’t class any of it as clever movement personally haha

What do we think?
Based on the responses of these supporters, it appears Patrick Bamford is a divisive character amongst those who follow the Whites. Currently Leeds United’s top goalscorer this season (as per BBC Sport), the former Middlesbrough striker has netted 13 times in 36 Championship appearances.
