A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a post discussing how Marcelo Bielsa would do with a small budget if they get promoted.
The tweet put out by @Conor_ALTV focuses on the amount of money Fulham and Aston Villa spent in comparison to Newcastle United under Rafael Benitez.
Could Bielsa keep Leeds up on a small budget?
Yes
No
The tweet focuses on the fact Fulham spent over £100m last summer and were relegated with just 26 points winning seven matches all season.
Villa are also mentioned in the tweet as they have spent over £140m over the past two transfer windows and are currently 19th in the league.
They are two points from safety and have lost their last four Premier League games.
The focus then switches to Newcastle, who under Benitez in their first season back in the top-flight finished in 10th, despite spending just under £40m.
So, these Leeds fans, therefore, think that even if Bielsa has nothing to spend in the summer, they will be fine.
Villa are going down after spending 140 million.
Fulham went down after spending 100 million.
Rafa got Newcastle into 10th with a net spend of -11 million.
Just shows what world class coaches can do, we need additions if we get up but I trust Bielsa with peanuts.#LUFC

People want to buy for the sake of it. If you can’t get the players you want don’t spend it’s that simple

Sign those already on loan (including Ben White hopefully), sign 2 or 3 quality additions, and continue to use the kids. Under Bielsa, we are far more about the system than individual players.

Said last night that if we go up I would expect only 3 or 4 signings #inbielsawetrust

Whatever budget you have ,spend it on a world class coach

This team now outclassed arsenal and it’s vital we try and keep white or find a good as replacement . We have in the making a very good premiership team #mot #LeedsUnited

He will start the same XI – and we won’t get relegated

If we go up Bielsa will put trust in the team that got us there with 3/4 quality additions.

I think we will have serious money to spend if we go up..I’d say Radz has the investors lined up as the big draw will be Premier league exposure for them..Wolves are a good example of money well spent I think they have spent £80-100 million and they thriving on league and Europe

What do we think?
Leeds will be spending £15m on Helder Costa this summer and also possibly €21m (£18.4m) on Jean-Kevin Augustin and another £8m on Jack Harrison and £5m on Illan Meslier.
So, that could be a significant chunk of a budget spent on just keeping current players at the club.
If this were the case, then the Whites, in our opinion, would need Bielsa to work his magic.
