Some Celtic fans have been left talking by the latest transfer links with Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe recently.
FootballInsider had recently reported that Ibe is willing to take a pay-cut to join Celtic as he is looking to reignite his career. The report went onto say that the Hoops have been keeping an eye on Ibe ever since they had a loan bid rejected for him last summer.
A Hoops-related page called Read Celtic relayed this information on Twitter. It got many fans talking and they make it clear that he isn’t wanted at Parkhead.

Ibe is a former Liverpool player and had joined Bournemouth from the Reds in the summer of 2016 for a then club-record £15 million fee. This season though, Ibe has made only two Premier League appearances and has played twice in the League Cup under Eddie Howe.
During his time with the Cherries, Ibe has an unimpressive goalscoring and assists record. He has made 92 appearances in all competitions, scoring only five goals and getting nine assists.
What do we think?
Ibe’s numbers and involvement this season shows that he does need to reinvigorate his career. Last season, he had played only 794 Premier League minutes and that too shows that he might need to move on.
At the end of 2019, it was reported that Ibe was in the middle of a legal issue about a coffee shop car crash and this had led to damage of £15,000. This shows that there are some off-field issues that Ibe has to get rid of.
For Celtic, Ibe will add depth. He is still 24 and has time on his hands to improve. If he can get the legal issues out of the way, the move might not be a bad one. If Celtic don’t make a permanent move for Mohamed Elyounoussi, Ibe can potentially replace him.
