Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest rumours linking Odsonne Edouard with a move to Premier League side Newcastle United.
Recently, the Daily Star reported that the Magpies are keeping a close eye on Edouard and Steve Bruce has had multiple meetings with the club’s transfer team to keep tabs on the Frenchman. He has been described as the Magpies’ ‘top target’. The report also claimed that Celtic are willing to fight ‘tooth and nail’ to keep the striker at Parkhead.
Celtic fans have been reacting to this report online. They made it clear that they don’t want Edouard to join Newcastle and feel he is more likely to join other clubs. Some even found the speculation laughable.

French Eddie is a quality player and if Celtic do sell (? they don’t) I’ll love it if he goes to Newcastle but unfortunately I can see him going to Leicester under Rodgers

This season, Edouard has scored 27 goals in all competitions for the club. In the Premiership, the former Paris Saint-Germain man has 21 goals and 12 assists to his name so far.
What do we think?
As things stand, Edouard is not a stranger to clubs being interested in him. Arsenal and Leicester City were recently linked with a move, while Monaco had a bid rejected for him, too. This shows that interest in Edouard will be big whenever the transfer window opens.
Because of this, Edouard may have a decision to make over his future in the coming months. It could be key to defining his career.
