Some Celtic fans have been talking about Nir Bitton and the defender’s inclusion in the SPFL Team of the Week recently.
The SPFL Twitter account recently sent out a tweet confirming the Team of the Week. Nir Bitton was the only Celtic player on the team, as the Israeli was involved in the club’s recent Scottish Cup win over St. Johnstone.
Should Bitton be the first name on the team-sheet?
He deserves it
We have better players
The Hoops Twitter handle retweeted this post, hailing Bitton for the achievement. And this left many Celtic fans raving about the central defender.
Well deserved. Sometimes goes unnoticed with Nir!

So far this season, Bitton has made 29 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops and 14 of them have come in the Premiership.
The recent appearance in the Scottish Cup was his second game in the current campaign of the competition.
What do we think?
Bitton’s accolade comes at the right time for Hoops, considering how the Bhoys have been using a 3-5-2 shape on a regular basis in the Premiership in 2020. In that sense, Bitton could be a player who allows them to play that shape on a regular basis and allows them to win more games, considering they’re yet to lose a game while playing the 3-5-2 in 2020.
