Under Rodgers, against which club did Celtic play their first Premiership game?

On watching this video, many Celtic fans were left raving about Auld. They still remember him fondly.

Was Auld the best Celtic player you've seen?

The Celtic Twitter account also wished Auld on the day. That too left many Celtic fans raving.

Auld was a product of the Celtic youth academy but had left the club to join Birmingham City in the summer of 1961. After a spell of four years and some months with the Blues, Auld returned to Parkhead in December 1965.

What do we think?

During his time at Parkhead, Auld won as many as six Scottish First Division titles with the club. He also won the European Champion Clubs’ Winner Cup in 1967 and also won as many as five League Cup titles.

The accolades Auld won shows that he really was a prominent figure in the club’s history. Judging by the comments of the fans, they really do respect him.
