Some Celtic fans have been talking about club legend Bertie Auld on the former player’s birthday.
On the 23rd of March, Auld was celebrating his 81st birthday. The former Hoops midfielder was wished on the day by a Celtic-related page called ‘CelticLisboa’. They posted a video of their former player and had some kind words to say for him.
On watching this video, many Celtic fans were left raving about Auld. They still remember him fondly.

Auld was a product of the Celtic youth academy but had left the club to join Birmingham City in the summer of 1961. After a spell of four years and some months with the Blues, Auld returned to Parkhead in December 1965.
What do we think?
During his time at Parkhead, Auld won as many as six Scottish First Division titles with the club. He also won the European Champion Clubs’ Winner Cup in 1967 and also won as many as five League Cup titles.
The accolades Auld won shows that he really was a prominent figure in the club’s history. Judging by the comments of the fans, they really do respect him.
