Some Brighton and Hove Albion fans have been reacting to a recent post from the club’s official Twitter account which shares comments that were made by the club’s manager Graham Potter regarding 22-year-old Ben White, who is currently on loan with Leeds United until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Seagulls’ official Twitter account recently made a post quoting Potter as mentioning that he is “delighted” with the progress White has made while out on loan with Leeds United this season, before stating that he is “looking forward to working with him”.

Yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk recently reported that the Brighton manager “has kept in touch” with the 22-year-old centre-back this season, quoting Potter as stating that he has “spoken with him over text”.

White, who is a product of the Albion academy setup, has made just two first-team appearances for the Seagulls in all competitions during his career. However, having joined Leeds United on loan in the 2019 summer transfer window, he has made 40 first-team appearances for the Peacocks in all competitions this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

Some Brighton fans have been reacting to their club’s recent tweet sharing Potter’s comments regarding the 22-year-old centre-back. Read the replies of some Brighton fans to Potter’s comments on White in the tweets below, with some clearly mocking Leeds fans at the possibility of taking him back.

What do we think?

White has earned an average match rating of 7.05 from his 37 Championship appearances this season according to WhoScored.com. Furthermore, the centre-back has made an average of 2.3 interceptions per game in the Championship this season.

Only four Leeds players have earned a higher average overall rating than White this season, while no Leeds players have made a higher number of interceptions per game for the Peacocks during the 2019/20 Championship campaign than the 22-year-old centre-back.

White’s stats may show that he has played a significant role for the current Championship leaders this season. It may be understandable why Potter has stated that he is “delighted with the progress he’s made” this season.
