Some Birmingham City fans have been reacting on social media to reports that Jude Bellingham has recently visited Manchester United’s Carrington training ground.

Less than a week ago, German publication Bild reported that Borussia Dortmund were set to sign Birmingham City’s 16-year-old Jude Bellingham for a “club-record” fee, in excess of £30 million. However, the latest reports on Bellingham’s future have linked him with a move closer to home, as talkSPORT have reported that the 16-year-old midfielder paid a visit to Manchester United’s Carrington training ground this past Monday.

TalkSPORT have claimed that the Birmingham City player “was met by Sir Alex Ferguson”, as well as Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and transfer negotiator Matt Judge, upon arriving at the Red Devils’ training ground on Monday. This report also includes a photograph which allegedly shows Bellingham’s parents “leaving Man United, with the player understood to be in the back of the car”.

Some fans of the 16-year-old’s current club, Birmingham City, have been reacting to the latest report linking Bellingham with Manchester United on social media. Should Jude Bellingham join Manchester United?

Who is the oldest player to make an appearance in the Championship this season?

What do we think?

It may be easy to point to the success of Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund as an example as to Dortmund may be Bellingham’s best choice, should the German club approach the Birmingham City youngster. Sancho joined Dortmund at a similar age to Bellingham, when he was just 17-years-old. Now, 19-years-old, Sancho has developed into one of the German club’s most important players, leading the club in both goals and assists for the 2019/20 Bundesliga season.

However, should the player decide to remain within his home country, Manchester United may be an attractive option. United have recently welcomed some of Europe’s most highly-rated youngsters to the club’s youth academy. Highly-rated talents such as Hannibal Mejbri and Dillon Hoogewerf, both joined United in the 2019 summer transfer window.

It may be fair to say that the Red Devils have been injecting quality into their youth academy over the past year. Should Bellingham decide to stay in England, the youngster may benefit from developing within United’s youth system.
