Some Birmingham City fans have recently been reacting to a tweet sharing footage of the Blues’ 8-0 Championship loss to Bournemouth from October 2014.
A Birmingham City supporter recently posted a tweet sharing footage, which can be seen here, of the Blues’ 8-0 defeat to Bournemouth from the 25th of October 2014, stating that their team at the time “was horrendous”.
The Blues went behind in the third minute of this classic Championship clash at St.Andrew’s, at which point the Cherries never looked back, going on to score another seven goals to round out an 8-0 win that remains the biggest margin of victory in the history of the Championship, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The Blues finished in 10th place on the Championship table in the 2014/15 campaign, however, this 8-0 loss to Bournemouth left them sitting second from bottom of the table, having earned just 11 points from their opening 14 games of the season.
Some Blues fans have not been pleased to receive a reminder of this 8-0 loss on social media. Read the reactions of some Blues supporters to this recent tweet sharing footage of this classic loss in the tweets below.

People always seem to think this was a game under clark when it was actually under that caretaker manager (forget his name?). Clark got the sack 2 games before. The caretaker bloke came in and we lossed 1-0 to blackburn away then we lost this game 8-0

What do we think?
In addition to leaving them second from bottom on the Championship table, the fact that this 8-0 loss to Bournemouth remains the largest margin of defeat suffered by any Championship side in history may make this a particularly painful memory for some Birmingham City supporters. With that in mind, it may be understandable why some Blues fans haven’t been particularly pleased to receive a reminder of this defeat on social media lately.
