Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which discusses whether Dion Sanderson, who is currently on loan at Cardiff City, should be promoted to the first-team next season.
Sanderson, who is an academy product of Wolves, joined Cardiff on loan in January and has so far made three appearances for the club, providing one assist.
The 20-year-old has averaged an impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.18 in his three Championship fixtures, including a stellar performance in his most recent outing, a 2-0 victory over Barnsley, in which he earned a remarkable 8.34 match rating.
Due to the £135k-rated defender’s fine form with Cardiff, Wolves Live posed the question on Twitter as to whether Sanderson should be promoted to the first-team next season, to which fans of the club replied with varying opinions.
Dion Sanderson is making a BIG impression on loan at Cardiff ?
Should Wolves promote him to the first team or loan him out next season?#WWFC pic.twitter.com/Bhlfer7bNv

From what I’ve seen of him, I don’t see him as a RWB more of a RCB. It’s a big position to fill at first team level in the Premier League. Another 1/2 season on loan wouldn’t do him any harm.

Loan him out again so can get first team football regularly ?

Another loan spell, I think… experience, experience, experience… ?

He’s been brilliant, wouldn’t harm to have him in competition with doc

One more season in the championship and then assess from there looking like a potential star for the future

What do we think?
While Sanderson can operate as a centre-back, in his time at Cardiff so far he has been deployed at right-back, which would appear to be his preferred position.
With that being the case, it is unlikely that, in the event of him remaining with Wolves first team next season, he would challenge Matt Doherty, who has once again been in fine form for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side this season, for a place in the starting XI.
