Spurs fans have been reacting to some footage of Japhet Tanganga during the 3-0 defeat against RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old is seen ruthlessly barging over Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano in the penalty area in a video posted by TranSPURS on Twitter. The academy graduate has become a regular in Jose Mourinho’s side over the past few months but struggled on his Champions League debut, earning a disappointing 5.63 rating for his performance from WhoScored.
It was Tanganga’s 11th appearance for the senior side at Spurs, so he will perhaps be forgiven for showing his inexperience in the game against Leipzig – with his arguably reckless challenge fortunately going unpunished. On a night where Spurs fans had very little to celebrate, it seems as if the youngster’s challenge at least provided one highlight.
Do you think it was a foul from Tanganga?

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the challenge from Tanganga.
What do we think?
Tanganga was perhaps lucky to get away with the challenge on Upamecano but at least it’s given the Spurs fans who travelled something to celebrate.
