Spurs fans have been reacting to the news that their club are reportedly interested in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the summer transfer window.
According to Italian news outlet Corriere Dello Sport (via Ricky Sacks), the North London club are keen on signing the French international in the summer when his contract with Frank Lampard’s side is set to expire. Jose Mourinho’s side were reportedly close to bringing the 33-year-old to Hotspur Way during the January transfer window but he remained at Stamford Bridge.
So far this season, the former Arsenal striker has made just nine appearances in the Premier League; averaging a disappointing 6.69 rating. One of his two goals in the top flight this season came in the 2-1 win against Spurs earlier this season, where he impressed; earning an 8.38 rating for his performance.

Would take Giroud tbh. Good option with PL experience. Can do a job late in games or when Kane needs a rest.

He is for free so I would take him

This would be a great move if we believe our young forward opinions will be ready in one or two years.

Since we made the bid for him in Jan and Frank’s started playing him he’s shown he’s still got it. Absolutely worth it for a third choice striker especially on a free. Then they need to invest in a second choice striker who can rotate in for Kane

Oh well.. for nothing… why not…

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that Oliver Giroud is a must-buy this summer as depth to Harry Kane.
Could even play Giroud and Kane together if there is a tactical and situational case for two No. 9s on the day.

These Spurs fans seem convinced that Giroud would be a good signing this summer.
What do we think?
Giroud has an enormous amount of experience in the Premier League, having scored 80 goals in 229 appearances in the top flight, so to sign him on a free as a back-up to Harry Kane looks to be a decent option for Jose Mourinho.
