Spurs fans have been discussing a post from Alasdair Gold on Twitter, as he provided coverage of the U23 fixture against Wolves.
The Football.london journalist reserved special praise for winger Maurizio Pochettino, son of former manager Mauricio, for his performance in the 3-2 win against Wolves. The youngster scored once and assisted an early goal for Troy Parrott, in a performance that will no doubt have impressed those watching from the senior side.
The winger joined Spurs’ academy back in 2017 but is yet to make an appearance for the senior side, even during the period when his father was in charge. Perhaps if he continues to perform in the manner he did on Monday night, then he will see himself knocking on Jose Mourinho’s door in the near future.
Do you think Maurizio Pochettino could be in the first-team soon?
Yes
No

That’s good… perhaps putting on a display for his Dads birthday!

Make him player-manager, IMHO.

Imagine the scenes when we sing his dads song when he plays for the first team at #WHL | Poch was always going to bring success at some point but perhaps it’s Master Poch that will deliver it? #COYS #InPochWeTrust #PochIn

These Spurs fans seemed to enjoy Pochettino scoring for the youth team and perhaps want to see him named in the senior squad in the not too distant future.
What do we think?
It would be fantastic to see Pochettino play under Mourinho, but considering the Portuguese manager has the likes of Heung-Min Son, Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura as wingers in his squad, perhaps the 18-year-old will have to wait a while.
