Spurs fans were extremely frustrated to see Troy Parrott introduced from the bench with just a few minutes remaining during Sunday’s 3-2 defeat by Wolves, which was announced by Alasdair Gold on his personal Twitter account.
The Republic of Ireland international was on the bench for the game against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side but was given very little time to make an impact, in what was only his second appearance in the Premier League. The 18-year-old replaced Ben Davies as the match approached its conclusion and understandably he failed to complete any passes or have any shots on goal.
Despite Jose Mourinho’s side desperately needing a goal, it seems as if the Portuguese manager is still unwilling to give the teenager much of a chance in the Premier League, having repeatedly told the media that the striker isn’t ready to be starting games in the top flight.
Is Mourinho treating Parrott unfairly?
Yes, he should've been given more of a chance
No, he isn't ready to be playing
Reaction from Spurs fans to Parrott’s late introduction can be seen in the tweets below.
Bit late Jose

Absolutely pathetic from Morinho. He’s totally gone at the game. I dread to think how much it would cost to get rid of him

Great. Chasing the game, a goal down and wait for the 4 minutes injury time. Great manager. Hate the way we play right now. We are clueless.

These Spurs fans were clearly fuming with Mourinho after his late introduction of Parrott and feel as if it was pointless to send him on with very little time remaining.
What do we think?
Although Mourinho has stated that Parrott isn’t ready, it seems strange that he wasn’t willing to take a risk on the 18-year-old in what was a hugely important match in the top-four race against Wolves, with the striker given little to no time to impress his manager.
