Spurs fans were treated to a screamer from Sandro Raniere against Chelsea for the Brazilian’s birthday at the weekend.
The official Spurs twitter page posted footage of the midfielder scoring from range at Stamford Bridge to celebrate the 31-year-old’s birthday. The former QPR and West Brom man is currently plying his trade in his native Brazil with Goiás EC, having played for a wide range of clubs since leaving Spurs.
The defensive-midfielder probably enjoyed the most success in his time with the Lilywhites; making 106 appearances for the North London club between 2010-14. Unfortunately, injuries prevented the Brazilian from establishing himself as more of a regular in the Premier League and judging how his career has gone since, it seems as if injuries have had a serious impact.
Was Sandro a success in his time at Spurs?

Followed by the Hilarious Gomes calamity

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the footage of Sandro, although one fan was quick to remember another less positive moment from that game when Heurelho Gomes’ mistake allowed Frank Lampard to equalise.
What do we think?
It was a superb goal from Sandro and you wonder if the 31-year-old would still be playing at a higher level if it wasn’t for his injury problems.
