Spurs fans have been discussing Ledley King on Twitter this week.

A post from COYS.com asked fans to describe the former Spurs man in just one word and as you would expect, the majority of replies were praising the 39-year-old. In his career, the former England international made 317 appearances for the North London club; contributing 12 goals and three assists.

The defender regularly struggled with knee problems throughout his time with the Lilywhites and he was forced into an early retirement back in 2012, aged just 31.

What do we think?

King was an exceptional player for Spurs, despite his injuries preventing him from training on a daily basis. After his retirement, Daniel Levy described him as “one of the most gifted players in the history of the club”, so it is not surprising to see so many fans still praising the defender eight years on from his retirement.
