Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have been fuming over a Twitter post from Alasdair Gold which reported the club’s financial growth.

According to Gold of Football.london, with figures that were sourced by Swiss Ramble, Spurs have recorded 119% growth over three years, with just under £250 million, which is more than any of the others of the Premier League’s ‘big six’, however, supporters were not pleased.
Some very interesting financial bits and pieces when it comes to Tottenham Hotspur, sourced by the excellent @SwissRamble. Shows the current difference in success on the pitch and off of it but with plenty of growth still needing to happen to catch up. https://t.co/OnJRZi1Ql7

It shows what our ownership’s priorities are. Again, wage bill so far below our rivals yet we have the most expensive ticket prices and most well paid chairman.

To be fair, this means diddly squat to me at the moment, surely the most important point to make is what you do with that financial growth and it is so obvious that even though we outstripped Liverpool, they have made better use of their finances to improve their team no end

Yet we have one striker

Is Spurs' growth in revenue down to not spending money in the transfer market? No, they are not the same thingYes, it shows we've not spent enough |
According to the report, the London club’s growth over the previous three years has been even greater than that of last season’s Champions League winners, Liverpool, who have had growth of around £231 million.
However, supporters still continued to fume over the fact that they perceived any growth to be irrelevant without spending money in the transfer market.
It is great but the financial growth is probably partly down to the fact we didnt buy anyone for 18 months

To be honest as a Spurs fan the only thing I care about is what happens on the pitch. That is why we are called football fans ?!?!. This is why we will never get anywhere with this ownership. They will never understand this. They only care about money

Short arms ,deep pockets ! If we really want success now under Mourinho ,the only way he wins things is with big spending. Don’t hold your breath

Because of Levy penny pitching he will probably need to spend about 300 million just to get us close to the top 4 again and maintain it and continue to spend to get us close to Liverpool

What do we think?
While you would imagine that growth in revenue is a good thing, it is abundantly clear that Spurs supporters believe it means nothing without success on the pitch.
It is also clear that only having one out-and-out striker in the first-team squad (as per Transfermarkt) is still a cause for annoyance amongst fans.
