Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slate the performance of Dele Alli during Wednesday night’s FA Cup penalty-shootout defeat against Norwich City.
The 23-year-old struggled throughout the game against the Canaries, earning a disappointing 6.13 rating for his performance from WhoScored. The former MK Dons man has not been at his best in recent weeks, but started up front for Jose Mourinho’s side in the absence of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, who both remain sidelined with injuries.
The England international was replaced during extra time having failed to make much of an impact and will no doubt be disappointed that he was dispossessed five times during the defeat.
Was Alli Spurs' worst player vs Norwich?
Yes

No

Reaction from Spurs fans to Alli’s disappointing performance can be seen in the tweets below.
Vorm is not up to standard, Alli might aswell not be on the pitch. Dier has been very impressive tho but we’re just not good enough #THFC #COYS

Can anyone explain how Dele Alli is still picked, let alone still on the pitch? #COYS #THFC

Please get Dele Alli off the pitch I just cannot watch him flick it to the opposition for a second longer. #thfc loads of talent but is a total passenger at the moment

Dele Alli’s career is done. Terrible player. The guy has no soul at all, probably cognitve impaired as he is continuously taking bad decisions. He would not be a first team option in Brazilian A or B series. #TOTNOR #FACup

Dele Alli has had what can only be described as an atrocious game. #TOTNOR #THFC

Sick of Alli, just a moody waste of space. Has done absolutely nothing in this game. Don’t defend him at all. #THFC #COYS

Dele Alli offering us nothing yet again. Time to haul him off and give the boy Parrott a chance. #THFC #COYS #TOTNOR #FACup

Give Parrott 30 minutes. That’s the least the kid deserves. Dele has been useless tonight. Spent more time sat on the floor than he has done on his feet. #THFC #COYS #TOTNOR

These Spurs fans clearly weren’t too happy with Alli’s performance in the defeat against Norwich and will be hoping for a lot better when Mourinho’s side face Burnley at the weekend.
What do we think?
Alli has been really disappointing recently, but considering the injury problems that the North London club are currently facing, it would be a surprise to see him dropped for Saturday’s trip to Turf Moor.
