Spurs fans have been discussing Victor Wanyama after the Kenyan midfielder completed a move to MLS side Montreal Impact.

The club confirmed on Twitter that the former Southampton and Celtic man had joined up with Thierry Henry’s side and Alasdair Gold later confirmed that he had left on a free transfer. The 28-year-old originally joined the North London club from Southampton in 2016 and he seriously impressed in his first season with the Lilywhites, averaging a 7.21 average match rating in the Premier League, as per WhoScored.

However, since then, the Kenyan international has seriously struggled with injury problems and as a result, had made just two substitute appearances in the top flight this season. Despite spending nearly four years with Spurs, Wanyama made just 97 appearances, so it is perhaps not a surprise to see him depart on a free transfer.
