Spurs fans were frustrated to hear that Hugo Lloris is set for another spell on the sidelines after suffering a groin injury.

The news was confirmed by the club ahead of the weekend game against Wolves, which saw Paulo Gazzaniga start ahead of the Frenchman in goal. The 33-year-old keeper has already missed a significant portion of this season after suffering an elbow injury in October of last year, missing 21 games in total.

Considering Jose Mourinho’s current injury woes, which see the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Moussa Sissoko all sidelined, he will surely be frustrated to lose his captain through another injury. So far this season, Lloris has started 11 games in the Premier League, averaging a decent 6.99 rating but it remains unclear how long this groin injury will rule him out for.

Can Gazzaniga step up in the absence of Lloris again?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the injury update on Lloris can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans were clearly frustrated to hear that the World Cup-winning goalkeeper is the latest player to be added to the injury list at the North London club.

What do we think?

It remains unclear how long Lloris will be out for, so hopefully for Mourinho, he will be back in time for the FA Cup match against Norwich on Wednesday night, but if not, it presents yet another problem for the Portuguese manager as he looks to secure a respectable finish in the Premier League.
