Spurs fans have been discussing the latest news on Manchester City centre-back John Stones, who is a reported transfer target for the North London club.
According to the Daily Star (via TranSPURS), Pep Guardiola is willing to sell the English international this summer, with TEAM Talk suggesting earlier in March that both Spurs and Arsenal were interested in his signature. Despite Manchester City losing club stalwart Vincent Kompany in the summer, as well as Aymeric Laporte having missed much of this season through injury, the 25-year-old has made just 12 appearances in the Premier League this season; averaging a disappointing 6.65 rating.
Since joining City from Everton in 2016, the defender has gone on to make 129 appearances for the Citizens; scoring five goals. Despite being a regular in the England side that reached the World Cup semi-final in 2018, the former Barnsley man has been dropped from the squad for recent international fixtures, so it is perhaps no surprise that Guardiola is keen to move him on.

I’d take him in Spurs. Anything would improve our defence

Would be a superb buy. Only 25. Has won stuff recently. Would bring a different mentality that we need.

I’d take him at Spurs. He’s got a winning mentality and would improve our team. How much would City want though?

I’d take him over Lovren, put it like that!

These Spurs fans seem to agree that Stones has a winning mentality and would be a welcome addition in Mourinho’s side.
What do we think?
Stones has won plenty of trophies during his time at Manchester City and would perhaps help stabilise a Spurs defence that has kept just four Premier League clean sheets so far this season. He could also prove to be a long-term replacement for Jan Vertonghen, who seems likely to leave in the summer when his contract expires.
