Spurs fans have been discussing former midfielder Mousa Dembele after he announced his retirement from international football this week.
The 32-year-old confirmed in an interview with Belgian news outlet HLN (via LastWordonSpurs) that he would be hanging up his boots for Belgium due to fitness and injury issues. The former Fulham midfielder played 249 times for the Lilywhites in his spell with the North London club, before making the move to China to join Guangzhou R & F in January 2019.
Dembele’s best season for Spurs probably came in the 2015/16 season, where he averaged a superb 7.69 rating for his performances in the Premier League, with injuries perhaps affecting his form in later seasons. With Spurs midfielders Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Eric Dier having all struggled for form so far this season, it is no surprise to see several fans commenting on the post that they miss the Belgian in their midfield.
Would you take Dembele back?

These Spurs fans clearly miss Dembele and feel as if they perhaps never should have allowed him to leave.
What do we think?
Had Dembele not been struggling with injuries then perhaps Spurs would have kept hold of him, although, with the 32-year-old currently valued at £4.05 million by Transfermarkt, it wouldn’t be too expensive to bring him back to North London should Mourinho wish.
