Spurs fans have been discussing Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey after his performance against Spurs in the FA Cup tie on Wednesday night.
Spurs fan Chris Miller shared a video, created by BNS Comps, showing the 22-year-old’s best moments from the FA Cup fifth-round clash, arguing that he shouldn’t be playing Championship football next season. Norwich are currently bottom of the Premier League and in real danger of relegation, but it seems as if Miller feels that the centre-back will earn a move to a Premier League side in the summer should Norwich go down.
So far this season, Godfrey has averaged a disappointing 6.47 rating for his performances in the Premier League but produced a strong display against Jose Mourinho’s side on Wednesday evening; earning an 8.3 rating in an excellent performance. The 22-year-old made three tackles and enjoyed a 92% pass success rate, whilst captaining Daniel Farke’s side.
Would you take Godfrey at Spurs?

No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the footage of Godfrey can be seen in the tweets below.
I’d happily take him, Aarons, Cantwell, Lewis and Buendia. Mad that they’re bottom of the league with that talent.

Poch would probably be all in for him, but you know Jose is gonna buy some massive, hairy, “if in doubt, kick it out” CB in the summer.

Sign him up

We need him and Puki

Was thinking that during the game. Would be a great addition to Spurs. Left side too. Toby/Dier with Godfrey/Tanganga. I’d be happy.

These Spurs fans would clearly love to see their club make a move for Godfrey after his impressive performance on Wednesday night.
What do we think?
Godfrey has struggled in the Premier League this season but you imagine that he could impress in a better side than Norwich after his strong display against Spurs. The 22-year-old is currently valued at £11.7 million by transfermarkt and could potentially be a replacement for Jan Vertonghen; who looks likely to depart this summer when his contract expires.
