Football.london’s Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold has provided an update on Harry Kane in his live Q & A.

Gold was asked about the possibility of Spurs signing Erling Braut Haaland in the summer and also gave his thoughts on the future of the England striker.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Gold believes that Kane is ‘unlikely’ to leave North London because of the ‘potential fee involved’.

This should come as a boost to Tottenham fans, though, Gold did dismiss any possibility of Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland joining Jose Mourinho’s team.

Do you think Kane will still be at Tottenham next season?

No

He thinks that Haaland will have the pick of the world’s clubs, and with a fit Kane, he would be unlikely to start at Tottenham.

However, Gold did say that it was a ‘shame’ that Tottenham will not be in for Haaland.

Here’s what he had to say in full:

“With Harry Kane fit, that’s not likely to be at Tottenham. Kane’s own departure is unlikely due to the potential fee involved.”

What do we think?

Kane is currently injured and has been missing since he damaged his hamstring against Southampton on New Year’s Day.

Since then, Tottenham have really struggled, winning just five games and crashing out of both the Champions League and the FA Cup.

The 26-year-old had scored 17 goals in all competitions before this injury, and with the Premier League currently suspended due to a viral outbreak, he could yet play a part in the rest of the season.

This update from Gold, though, should be seen as a positive as it suggests that the England striker will still be a Spurs player next season.

It will be interesting to see if Daniel Levy backs Mourinho in the transfer market and gives Kane some support.
