It has been a sensational start to life in the Premier League for Sheffield United this season. The side have lost just seven matches in the 2019/20 campaign, an incredible feat for a newly promoted team. This is a record that rivals Manchester City, who have lost just seven games also.
However, with their run in the Premier League currently at a standstill, the club has been looking back at highlights from their road to the Premier League.
The club shared footage of Chris Basham scoring a brilliant goal against Leeds United this time last year. The goal was the deciding factor in the Blades’ 1-0 win over Leeds. The win itself pushed Sheffield United one point above Leeds, and into an automatic promotion spot. As we now know, Sheffield United achieved promotion, while Leeds remained in the Championship.
When Blades fans saw the tweet, they were full of jubilation. They credit this moment as being a massive turning point in the league. They went on to finish six points above Leeds.

Basham has been a steady presence in Chris Wilder’s team so far this season, making 31 appearances across all competitions. However, he hasn’t been able to find the back of the net in the Premier League like he did against Leeds in the Championship. For some reason, given their current standing in the table, we believe that the Sheffield United fans aren’t too concerned about his lack of goals.
