This week Sheffield United fans have been reacting to footage of Billy Sharp scoring a brilliant goal for their side. And we know what you’re thinking – isn’t English football currently on lockdown?
Well, you’d be right. But that isn’t stopping Sharp from scoring.
Sheffield United tweeted a highlight of Sharp’s character scoring for their side in the FIFA tournament they are participating in. This highlight was re-tweeted by Sharp, who joked that he doesn’t score goals from that far out.
Fans laughed along with the player, with some poking fun at him by insinuating that he was a tap in merchant. These cheeky digs are likely done in jest though.

Is Billy Sharp a tap in merchant?
Yeah - but I don't mind at all
No - and watch your tongue
Celebration is bang on though

Others deny Sharp’s claim by highlighting moments from the past when he has scored some long-range efforts.
Think Derby at the lane would disagree

What do we think?
The player has scored 106 goals for the Blades over his 263 appearances for the side. We are sure that, as long as he continues to score at such a rate for his team, fans won’t be bothered by the distance that Sharp is scoring from.
