A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to Mark Douglas’ tweet discussing the latest Newcastle takeover news.
A report in the Daily Telegraph released on Sunday claimed that a £340m takeover of the Toon was edging closer to completion because there was a solid bid on the table, and the Premier League have been made aware of the move.
The report claimed that Newcastle would be 80% owned by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF), 10% by Reuben Brothers, and the last 10% owned by Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital.
However, judging by the replies to these tweets, many Newcastle fans do not believe it at all.
New claims on #nufctakeover tonight – with @premierleague apparently informed.
They were also informed of Bin Zayed Group, remember (and had much of the paperwork).
So we wait and see what happens next….

Another Ashley Fake-Over PR stunt!

How can it be real? For one, there’s no transfer window. And it’s not like Ashley’s done anything wrong again recently where he’d need to employ this old trick of getting everyone to look and focus elsewhere rather than another one of his dastardly deeds ? #nufc

Ashley’s in big trouble. Every single one of his businesses is losing money. Great to see So much trouble that he maybe needs 320 million quid to save himself

What do we think?
Every single attempt to take Newcastle from Mike Ashley has failed, and though there does seem to something slightly different about this one, we would urge caution.
What do you think of the latest takeover story?
Load of rubbish
Might be something in it
What must be remembered is that Ashley has had some bad PR this week after he tried to keep Sports Direct open in the face of a pandemic – so could this be a deflection tactic?
Certainly, some of these Newcastle fans think so.
However, it will be interesting to see if this attempt goes any further or if it also fades away like all the others.
