A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a tweet from their club, showing the Toon’s well-worked second goal.
The video shows Nabil Bentaleb play a pass into Valentino Lazaro (0:02), and the Austrian finds Javier Manquillo, who slips the ball back to Lazaro. (0:08)
Was Joelinton lucky with his back-heel?
Yes, he should be thankful that Almiron was there
No, it was a great piece of skill
The 23-year-old’s cross is then blocked, but it comes to Joelinton, and he cleverly back-heels the ball to Miguel Almiron (0:11), who thumps the ball into the top corner. (0:14)
This was a good goal for Newcastle, and the footage had many fans talking.

Well that’s his £40m fee paid back then ????????

£40m for 1 Premier League goal and a clever back heel. Bargain!
Still better than Riviere though (just)

Give him a raise

To be fair there was no skill involved… he knocked it back on the hope somebody was there, premiership is not his level and not worth £40mil

What do we think?
This was a good goal, and it helped Newcastle seal an FA Cup quarter-final tie with Manchester City.
Joelinton recorded his fourth assist for the Toon, and this was a good piece of skill and a good display of awareness. (0:11)
So, to us, it seems harsh that some Newcastle fans targeted the Brazilian.
Yes, that back-heel is not worth the £40m that the Toon paid for him, but it was a good piece of skill and, in our opinion, deserves credit.
