Manchester City fans have flocked to Twitter to respond to the latest reported transfer news surrounding Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.
This comes after City fan Twitter account @City_Xtra shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in a report by Calcio Mercato.
The report claims that City boss Pep Guardiola wants to sign the Italian, who he sees as the “perfect defender” for his side this summer.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from City fans who were eager to have their say on this latest news.
Would Bonucci be a better defensive option than Stones or Otamendi?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of City fans responding to the post:
Pep Guardiola would like Juventus' Leonardo Bonucci (32) this summer – a 'desire' that has been around for some time but is 'unfulfillable' due to the Serie A side's reluctance to sell.
Guardiola sees Bonucci as the 'perfect defender', with quality and leadership.

If we do this, I’m taking next season off too. Such a waste of time

The 32-year-old, who is currently valued at £22.5 million according to Transfermarkt, has made 25 appearances in Serie A so far this season, resulting in the Italian earning a season rating of 6.84 for his participation in the league (per WhoScored). Now that it has been reported that Guardiola is a big admirer of the defender and wants to bring him to Manchester this summer, this news has not gone down well with a lot of City fans.

What do we think?
It seems that despite Guardiola’s reported admiration for Bonucci, this has done very little to sway these City fans’ opinions on the Juventus man.
