Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to Yaya Toure’s post on Twitter, in which the former City midfielder congratulates the club on their victory in the League Cup final over Aston Villa on Sunday.

Toure, who joined Manchester City from Barcelona in 2010 for £27 million, made 316 appearances for City, scoring 79 goals and providing 50 assists.

The central midfielder, who is currently without a club, won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three League Cups and one Community Sheild over his eight seasons with the Citizens.

Following his departure from Manchester in 2018, the four-time African Footballer of the Year has played for Olympiacos and QD Huanghai.

Following Manchester City’s latest triumph, a thrilling League Cup final victory against Aston Villa, Toure took to Twitter, praising his former club.

In reaction to the 36-year-old’s post, City fans flocked to social media, with many reminiscing about the former Ivory Coast international’s best moments at the club, while others simply joined Toure in his praise of the club.

What do we think?

Toure will undoubtedly be as happy as many Manchester City fans to see that his former club are continuing their domination of the cup, having won five out of the last seven League Cup titles.
